BAKU, Azerbaijan, Sept. 30 - Azerbaijan has begun resettling 42 families comprising 193 people in Khojaly, Khojavend and the village of Shukurbayli in the Jabrayil district.
The latest relocation is taking place under the government’s Great Return program, according to reporting cited by Vesti Baku.
Where the Families Are Going
Nine families, or 60 people, are returning to Shukurbayli. Another 17 families comprising 78 people are being resettled in Khojaly, while 16 families, or 55 people, are moving to Khojavend.
The families had been living temporarily in different parts of Azerbaijan, mainly in dormitories, sanatoriums and administrative buildings.
The new phase continues the gradual return of former internally displaced people to areas restored to Azerbaijani control as housing and essential infrastructure are rebuilt.
