BAKU, Azerbaijan - Electricity service will be restricted in parts of Baku’s Nizami district from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 19, while crews inspect relay-protection and automation systems, utility operator Azerishiq said.

The planned work will affect Bahruz Nuriyev and Jamshid Nakhchivanski streets, part of Ismail Mammadov Street and sections of Babek and Gara Garayev avenues, according to reports by Report and Trend, both citing Azerishiq.

The restriction does not cover the entire district. Azerishiq said the inspections are intended to improve electricity quality, meet rising demand and provide more reliable service after the work is completed.

The announced five-hour window is the scheduled period for the restrictions. No early completion time had been announced.

The electricity work is separate from water-supply restrictions affecting parts of the same district until the morning of Oct. 21.
