ANKARA, Türkiye - Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov highlighted the Organization of Turkic States’ 2027 defense industry cooperation roadmap during a meeting of the group’s Council of Foreign Ministers in Ankara.
The roadmap was formally adopted on Oct. 1 at a meeting of OTS member states’ defense industry agencies in Baku, held alongside the ADEX-2026 defense exhibition.
Joint Production and Technology
The document outlines cooperation on joint research and development, co-production, subcontracting, localization and technology partnerships among OTS member states.
Bayramov said closer defense industry cooperation should accompany stronger political dialogue and security coordination as conflicts continue and the international security architecture faces growing pressure.
He also cited the importance of a meeting of OTS member states’ national security council secretaries held in Baku.
On economic cooperation, Bayramov called for expanded trade and investment ties, transport connectivity, energy and financial cooperation, and collaboration in digital development, innovation and emerging technologies.
The foreign ministers’ meeting precedes the 13th OTS summit in Ankara. Azerbaijan is concluding its chairmanship of the organization, which began after the October 2025 summit in Gabala.
