Azerbaijan recorded a positive money-transfer balance of $680 million during the first seven months of 2026, according to Central Bank official Elrad Seyidov.

The figure means the amount transferred into Azerbaijan exceeded the money sent abroad by $680 million between January and July.

The country also posted a foreign trade surplus of nearly $9.5 billion during the same period.

Seyidov said Azerbaijan’s favorable external position, current-account surplus and growing foreign currency revenues were supporting an increase in the country’s reserves.

The figures are particularly significant amid continued instability in global energy and financial markets.

A steady inflow of foreign currency provides an additional buffer for the manat and strengthens Azerbaijan’s ability to absorb external economic shocks.
