Azerbaijan Creates Commission to Coordinate Construction Projects

Must read

BAKU, Azerbaijan - President Ilham Aliyev has ordered the creation of a commission to coordinate construction projects across Azerbaijan, placing administrative coordination and implementation oversight under a single mechanism.

The Coordination Commission for Construction Projects was established to improve administrative procedures for construction initiatives and align the work of state bodies and institutions, according to APA. Aliyev signed the order on Oct. 26.

The commission will also monitor executive discipline - whether assigned decisions and deadlines are carried out - and prepare proposals for studying and applying advanced practices in the construction sector.

The measure creates a central coordination mechanism at a time when building projects often require decisions from several government bodies. Its stated purpose is to improve the handling of those processes and reduce gaps between agencies responsible for implementation.

The initial announcement did not identify the commission’s members, set deadlines for its first proposals or specify changes to individual permit and approval procedures. The order therefore establishes the coordinating body but does not by itself revise existing construction rules.

Further details are expected through implementing decisions and the commission’s operating procedures.
