Azerbaijan has begun another stage of its Great Return program, relocating 59 families, or 284 people, to Khankendi and communities in the Khojaly, Aghdara and Jabrayil districts.
The returning residents had been living temporarily in different parts of the country, mainly in dormitories, sanatoriums and administrative buildings, Vesti Baku reported.
Where the Families Are Returning
Three families comprising 13 people are moving to Khankendi, while five families with 22 people are returning to the Karkijahan settlement.
In the Khojaly district, seven families totaling 31 people are returning to Tazabina, five families with 22 people to Khanyurdu, two families with 10 people to Khanabad and one family of four to Ballija.
In the Aghdara district, four families are returning to each of the villages of Vangli, Chapar and Lower Oratag. The three villages will receive 34 residents in total.
The largest group consists of 24 families, or 148 people, moving to Shukurbayli village in the Jabrayil district.
The relocation is being carried out under Azerbaijan’s state Great Return program. Returning residents are being provided with restored housing and access to essential infrastructure in the territories.
