Eight people received medical assistance at the school, while a suspected food-poisoning incident was not confirmed, according to statements from the Administration of the Regional Medical Divisions, known as TƏBİB, and the Azerbaijan Food Safety Agency.

Eight People Treated at the Scene

The Republican Center for Emergency and Urgent Medical Aid received a call from the Jeyranbatan school at about 3:50 p.m. on Oct. 29. An ambulance team was dispatched and provided on-site care to eight people.

Initial reports suggested the students might have become ill after eating food. The Food Safety Agency later said information obtained from the medical facility did not confirm food poisoning.

Rotavirus Cases Confirmed

TƏBİB said several students had been diagnosed with rotavirus. The agency did not specify the exact number of confirmed cases or provide details on hospitalizations or the children’s current condition.

The school administration said it immediately brought the situation under control and notified emergency medical services. Relevant agencies are investigating how the infection spread and the circumstances surrounding the incident.
