President Ilham Aliyev said Azerbaijan’s defense industry has entered a qualitatively new stage, with domestic manufacturers expanding production capacity and gaining greater international recognition.
Aliyev made the assessment in an address to participants of the sixth Azerbaijan International Defense Exhibition, ADEX 2026, and the 15th anniversary International Exhibition for Internal Security, Safety and Rescue Equipment, Securex Caspian 2026, which opened in Baku on September 30.
Strengthening the country’s defense capability and safeguarding national security remain among the priorities of Azerbaijan’s state policy, Aliyev said. He added that products made by Azerbaijani defense enterprises play an important role in equipping the Armed Forces and are also attracting interest from relevant agencies in other countries because of their competitiveness.
Production and Export Potential
Aliyev said the quality and reliability of Azerbaijani defense products are receiving high marks internationally. The sector’s continued development, he said, strengthens Azerbaijan’s military-technical potential and deepens cooperation with friendly and partner countries.
The president described ADEX as one of the region’s most authoritative defense-industry platforms, bringing together government agencies, specialists and companies to present new weapons, military equipment and technological solutions.
The parallel Securex Caspian exhibition focuses on internal security, surveillance, rescue technology and emergency-management equipment.
Organizers said ADEX 2026 is being held at the Baku Expo Center from September 30 through October 2. APA reported that Defense Industry Minister Vugar Mustafayev addressed the opening ceremony before participants toured the exhibition.
The exhibitions are organized by Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Defense Industry with support from Caspian Event Organisers.
