Opposition figure says Gultekin Hajibeyli has returned to Azerbaijan and was not detained upon arrival; no official confirmation has been issued.
Former Azerbaijani member of parliament and National Council figure Gultekin Hajibeyli has reportedly been deported from Turkey to Azerbaijan, according to a statement by Fuad Gahramanli, deputy chair of the Azerbaijan Popular Front Party.
Gahramanli said Hajibeyli was not detained after arriving in Azerbaijan.
There has been no official confirmation from Azerbaijani or Turkish authorities.
Hajibeyli had previously been detained by law enforcement officers at her residence in Istanbul and later transferred to a deportation center in Arnavutköy.
Her name has also been mentioned in connection with the so-called “Ramiz Mehdiyev case.”
