The highway on the Azerbaijani section of the Zangezur corridor is 95% complete and the railway is 75% complete, while engineering work has begun on the TRIPP route in Armenia.
Deputy Foreign Minister Elnur Mammadov presented the figures at the Second Azerbaijan International Investment Forum, according to Vesti Baku.
Mammadov said the remaining work in Azerbaijan should be completed in 2027. Two news agencies reported different time frames: Report quoted him as saying the first half of the year, while APA cited the third quarter.
Engineering Work Begins in Armenia
Mammadov said a company was being established to develop TRIPP. Engineering work has already begun in Armenia, with construction on about 42 kilometers of the route expected to start in early 2027.
He said the new route could reduce cargo-delivery times from about three weeks to 12 to 15 days. It would connect mainland Azerbaijan with Nakhchivan and link the South Caucasus to the Trans-Caspian network.
Mammadov also said Baku had unilaterally removed transit restrictions concerning Armenia. More than 60,000 metric tons of cargo were transported through Azerbaijan to Armenia over the past year, including more than 20,000 tons of petroleum products.
