Heydar Aliyev International Airport will operate in an enhanced mode through Sept. 27 as passenger traffic is expected to rise during the Azerbaijan Formula 1 Grand Prix.
The airport shifted to the higher-readiness schedule on Sept. 19. Passengers are being advised to plan their journeys in advance and allow extra time before departure.
The main racing program will take place from Sept. 24 through Sept. 26, when heavier traffic and possible road restrictions are expected in Baku.
Passengers Urged to Check Flights and Terminals
The airport recommends completing online check-in in advance and confirming both flight status and the departure terminal before traveling.
Passengers traveling from central Baku are also being encouraged to consider the Aeroexpress service from the 28 May metro station.
The advice is intended to reduce the risk of missed flights as Formula 1 visitors increase demand on roads and airport services.
Parking and Special Assistance
The first 15 minutes of parking at the airport remain free. Parking fees can be paid through TezÖdə, AzParking and Birbank.
Passengers who require special assistance should contact their airline at least 48 hours before departure, according to the airport’s guidance.
The airport’s press service announced the enhanced operating schedule. The information was also reported by Report.az and APA.az.
