BAKU - Azerbaijan’s draft 2027 budget includes 40 million manats ($23.5 million) to purchase 600 apartments for families of martyrs and people with disabilities related to the war.

Labor and Social Protection Minister Anar Aliyev presented the figures during a joint meeting of Milli Majlis committees considering the 2027 budget package.

The housing allocation would continue a program that provides eligible groups with homes, vehicles and rehabilitation equipment. More than 30 million manats ($17.6 million) is also planned for vehicles for people with war-related disabilities who have qualifying medical indications, as well as for rehabilitation equipment.

Housing Program Runs Through 2030

The program covers families of martyrs and people recognized within the applicable deadlines as needing improved housing conditions. In 2025, the program was extended through 2030.

According to the Labor and Social Protection Ministry, more than 7,300 apartments and private homes have been provided under the program since the war, bringing the total delivered over the program’s full history to more than 16,000.

The 600-apartment purchase and the stated allocations remain part of a draft budget. Final funding will be determined after the budget documents are approved.
