Beginning Jan. 1, 2027, Azerbaijan’s annual household registration will record the number of desktop computers, laptops and tablets in each home, along with whether the household has internet access and how it connects.
The requirements are included in updated household registration documents approved by Azerbaijan’s State Statistics Committee and take effect at the start of 2027.
Survey records will specify both the type and number of devices in the household.
Internet connections provided through a telephone line, cable television network or fiber-optic line will be classified as fixed access. Connections through a mobile phone, data card or USB modem will be classified as wireless access.
Local executive authority offices conduct the registration. Under rules approved by Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 273 on May 22, 2024, the survey is held each year from Jan. 1 through Jan. 30 and reflects conditions at the start of the year. Information may be supplied by the head of the household or another adult household member with legal capacity.
By Feb. 10, local offices must submit data on the number of households and their members to municipalities and statistical authorities.
