BAKU, Azerbaijan - The Shusha State Vocational Education Center has opened after a major renovation, with capacity for 360 students.
President Ilham Aliyev attended the opening ceremony on Nov. 7 and reviewed the center’s educational and production facilities, Vesti Baku reported.
Science and Education Minister Emin Amrullayev briefed the president on the facilities, according to the official presidential website.
The overhaul of the complex began in March 2025. Its two-story academic building includes nine workshops, three training and production areas, five classrooms, physics and chemistry laboratories, an information technology classroom, a room for initial military training and a cafeteria.
A separate workshop is dedicated to making and restoring musical instruments, a field connected to Shusha’s cultural traditions. The center also includes a drawing room and laboratory support space.
Training and Accommodation
The complex has a five-story dormitory containing an assembly hall, workshops, a technical creativity area, a library and electronic library, study and sleeping rooms, recreation and fitness rooms, and a food-service facility.
The center is expected to train qualified local workers and specialists for reconstruction projects and the further development of the territories restored to Azerbaijani control. Its programs will combine classroom instruction with practical work in the workshops.
