Azerbaijan Prepares Sixth Social Reform Package to Raise Payments

Must read

Azerbaijan is preparing a sixth package of social reforms aimed at increasing social payments, Labour and Social Protection Minister Anar Aliyev said. The government has not yet announced the size of the increases or when they would take effect.

Aliyev announced the work during the international SOCGOV 2026 forum in Khankendi, according to APA.

The minister said Azerbaijan has implemented five social reform packages since 2018. Together, those measures added 8 billion manats in annual financial commitments.

Official figures from the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection show that the previous five packages covered about 4 million people and included increases in salaries, pensions, benefits and stipends.

Details Have Not Yet Been Announced

The government has so far confirmed only that the sixth package is being developed and that its purpose is to raise social payments further.

Officials have not publicly identified the groups that would qualify, the new payment amounts or the date the changes would begin. The announcement therefore concerns a reform under preparation, not an increase that has already been approved.
