Baku Metro plans to put the new “20 September” station into full operation by mid-2027, a company official said.
The main construction work at the station has been completed and finishing work is underway, according to Mammad Rzayev, head of Baku Metro’s construction project management department.
Rzayev said issues involving imported materials and logistics, which arose because of the station’s distinctive architectural design, have been resolved. Work is now proceeding according to schedule.
Work Continues on Line Separation
Baku Metro is also continuing a project to separate the Red and Green lines. Workers have completed 63 meters of a planned 211-meter new tunnel, and preparations are underway for a tender covering the next stage.
The company said the work is being financed with the participation of international financial institutions.
