Free entry at Baku Metro’s Khojasan and Avtovagzal stations is planned to remain in place for at least one month, while 16 bus routes will be redirected to the stations.
The new arrangement will begin Sept. 23. Its duration will depend on the results of passenger-flow monitoring.
Baku Metro spokesperson Bakhtiyar Mammadov said the free-entry period could last longer than one month.
Sixteen Bus Routes to Be Redirected
Authorities plan to redirect 16 bus routes serving Sumgayit, Jeyranbatan, Masazir, Khirdalan, Mushfigabad, Gokmali and other suburban destinations to Khojasan and Avtovagzal.
The changes are intended to let passengers transfer to the metro earlier instead of continuing by road to the 20 January area, reducing travel time spent in traffic.
