Azerbaijan Marks Knowledge Day as 2.2 Million Begin New Academic Year

Azerbaijan is marking Knowledge Day on September 15 as classes begin at educational institutions across the country, according to Report.

Around 2.2 million students will study in Azerbaijan during the 2026-2027 academic year. More than 130,000 children will enter first grade.

Another 75,000 students have been admitted to all levels of higher education for the new academic year.

Under an order issued by the Ministry of Science and Education, the first lesson for students in grades 2-11 at all general education schools will be dedicated to the theme “Year of Urban Planning and Architecture.”
