Azerbaijani boxer Saidjamshid Jafarov won the European title in the 75 kg division in Sofia, defeating Russia’s Ismail Mutsolgov by a unanimous 5-0 decision in the final.
Azerbaijan finished the championships with five medals: two golds, one silver and two bronzes. Subhan Mammadov also won gold at 50 kg. Nabi Iskandarov took silver at 70 kg, while Amin Mammadzade (55 kg) and Muhammad Abdullayev (over 90 kg) earned bronze.
The tournament in Bulgaria’s capital drew 406 boxers from 43 countries.
