Foreign investors directed 3.5 billion manats into fixed capital in Azerbaijan in January-September 2026, an 18.3% increase from the same period a year earlier, according to official data.
Report, citing Azerbaijan’s State Statistical Committee, said 3.4 billion manats, or 97.1% of the foreign investment total, came from investors in the United Kingdom, Türkiye, the United Arab Emirates, Russia, the United States, Switzerland, Japan, Iran, Hungary, France, India and China.
Oil and Gas Investment Outpaces Non-Oil Growth
Total investment in Azerbaijan’s fixed capital reached 14.6 billion manats in the first nine months of the year, up 10.9% in real terms from the corresponding period of 2025.
Investment in the oil and gas sector increased 30.8% to 4.8 billion manats. Investment in the non-oil and gas economy rose 3.1% to 9.8 billion manats.
Foreign capital therefore accounted for about one-quarter of all fixed-capital investment during the period. The figures cover spending on construction, equipment and other long-term assets rather than all financial inflows into the economy.
