Syria received 1.0401 billion cubic meters of Azerbaijani natural gas through Türkiye in the first eight months of 2026, according to data from Türkiye’s Energy Market Regulatory Authority.

The volume accounted for 68.03% of Türkiye’s total natural gas exports from January through August, according to Report.az, which cited the regulator, known as EPDK.

Deliveries through the new route began on Aug. 2, 2025. When the project was launched, officials said annual Azerbaijani gas supplies to Syria could reach about 1.2 billion cubic meters during the initial stage.

August Deliveries Rise 2.7-Fold

Syria received 159.4 million cubic meters of gas in August 2026, 2.7 times the volume delivered in August 2025.

Türkiye’s total natural gas exports reached 1.52894 billion cubic meters in the first eight months of the year, up 16% from the same period of 2025. August exports totaled 225.37 million cubic meters, an increase of 11.3% from a year earlier.

The eight-month volume supplied to Syria was already approaching the initial annual target. The route gives Azerbaijan an additional export market while supporting energy generation in Syria.
