Azerbaijan has provided jobs to 3,723 returning residents in Khankendi, Khojaly, Khojavend and Aghdara, while hundreds more have received training or are awaiting employment.
A total of 3,867 people in the four cities have been covered by employment support measures, according to figures from Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Labor and Social Protection cited by Report.az.
Among those employed, 560 people joined a self-employment program that helped them establish small businesses and farms. Another 144 residents were referred for vocational training.
The ministry said work is underway to secure employment for about 660 additional people.
The figures highlight the economic side of the return process as Azerbaijan works to create jobs and income sources in communities undergoing reconstruction.
