School uniform prices in Azerbaijan have declined ahead of the new academic year, with retailers reporting discounts on several popular items.

Trousers and skirts that previously cost 20 manats are now being sold for 15 manats. Jacket prices have also fallen from 30 manats to between 20 and 22 manats.

Sellers said fabrics used to produce the uniforms are imported from Belarus, Türkiye and Uzbekistan.

Parents are reportedly paying attention not only to prices, but also to fabric quality, comfort and stitching. Shirts with both long and short sleeves, as well as trousers and skirts, are currently among the most frequently purchased items.

Manufacturers said daily production depends on staffing levels and seasonal demand. A factory can produce around 300 school uniform items per day, with output rising to approximately 400 when more workers are available.

Some parents said uniforms appear more affordable this year and that the quality has improved compared with previous seasons.

Retailers expect the number of customers to increase as the start of the school year approaches.
