KYIV, Ukraine — Four people, including three children, were killed in Russian drone attacks on the Kyiv region, Ukrainian regional authorities said Sunday. Damage was reported at 31 sites across five districts.

A woman and her two 3-year-old children were killed when a drone struck their private home. Another girl died from injuries after a separate strike, according to a Reuters report citing Ukrainian officials.

Fastiv District Sustains the Heaviest Damage

Authorities in the Kyiv region said the series of attacks continued for more than a day. The Fastiv district sustained the most extensive damage, with homes and other sites hit.

Kyiv also came under prolonged drone attacks. Mayor Vitali Klitschko said one person was injured and drone debris fell in several districts of the capital.

One additional person was killed by shelling in Kramatorsk in the Donetsk region. Russian authorities had not separately commented on the reported deaths of the children in the Kyiv region at the time of publication.

Moldova Reports Airspace Violation

Moldova’s Foreign Ministry said a Russian drone entered the country’s airspace near Chisinau during the overnight attacks. Moscow had not commented on the Moldovan statement.

The Russian strike came on the same day as what Moscow authorities described as the largest Ukrainian drone attack on Moscow and the surrounding region since the war began. Russian officials reported three deaths, damage at the Moscow oil refinery and residential evacuations.

Kyiv said its operation targeted Russian military, oil and logistics infrastructure. The continuing long-range attacks by both sides have added to civilian casualties despite discussions about limiting strikes on energy facilities.
