Representatives of Armenian civil society are expected to visit Azerbaijan in the coming days as part of the Peace Bridge initiative, continuing a series of direct contacts intended to support reconciliation between the two countries.
The visit is scheduled to take place in September, although its exact date, the composition of the delegation and the meeting agenda have not yet been publicly disclosed.
Ahead of the trip, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received members of the delegation and discussed their upcoming visit to Baku.
Dialogue Began in 2025
The first visit by Armenian civil society representatives to Baku under the initiative took place in November 2025.
Azerbaijani representatives made a reciprocal trip to Armenia on February 13–14, 2026. The delegation crossed the land border through a section that had already been delimited and demarcated – an important practical step in rebuilding direct contacts between the two countries.
The February roundtable brought together 20 representatives from each side. Participants discussed the emerging regional security architecture, the economic benefits of peace, public perceptions of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations and the role of civil society in strengthening mutual trust.
Another meeting took place in April, when Armenian representatives again traveled to Azerbaijan. The upcoming September visit will continue that dialogue.
The Peace Bridge initiative brings together journalists, analysts and representatives of nongovernmental organizations from Azerbaijan and Armenia.
Such meetings do not replace official negotiations between Baku and Yerevan. However, they are intended to create broader public support for peace, reduce mutual distrust and establish direct communication between the two societies after decades of conflict.
