AZAL Accused of Cutting Costs on Nakhchivan Passengers

Passengers traveling between Nakhchivan and Baku have complained about reduced onboard service, saying Azerbaijan Airlines, or AZAL, has stopped offering tea and coffee on the route.

Passengers said travelers were previously given a choice of tea, coffee or water during the flight. The service has now reportedly been limited to water only, according to Bizimesr.media.

The change has drawn particular criticism from passengers using early-morning flights, who say a hot drink was a simple but valued part of the journey.

Some questioned how much the airline could realistically save by removing tea and coffee from its service.

“If this service was available before, why was it canceled? Can one cup of tea or coffee really make such a significant difference to the airline’s costs?” passengers asked.

AZAL has not publicly explained the reported change or said whether the suspension of hot drinks is temporary or permanent.
