A customer has filmed a cockroach crawling near food products inside a store selling flour-based goods in Baku’s Sabunchu district.
The incident occurred at a shop in the Yaver Aliyev settlement. The customer recorded the video after visiting the store to buy bread and sent the footage to Azerbaijan’s Xəzər Xəbər television channel.
Residents alleged that the store had problems with insects and poor sanitary conditions.
The store’s owner said he was aware of the issue, explaining that he had recently acquired the property. According to him, a pest-control company has treated the premises several times since the change in ownership.
The owner said disinfection work would continue. He added that flour-based products were being kept on enclosed shelves to prevent insects from reaching them.
