Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity, or TRIPP, should provide unimpeded multimodal links between mainland Azerbaijan and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic while expanding regional trade, energy and logistics ties.
Bayramov made the remarks at the U.S.-organized event “Prosperity Through Peace: Investing in the Trans-Caspian Trade Route and TRIPP,” held on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.
He described TRIPP as one of the key outcomes of the Washington summit and said the route is intended not only to connect Azerbaijan with Nakhchivan but also to support lasting peace and the development of regional communications.
Transport, Energy and Investment
Bayramov said stronger transport and logistics links could accelerate economic growth, make supply chains more resilient and create new investment opportunities.
He also pointed to TRIPP’s potential to improve energy connectivity and diversify energy sources, and thanked the United States for supporting the project.
Azerbaijan is continuing to invest in an integrated transport and logistics hub centered on the Port of Baku and the Alat Free Economic Zone, Bayramov said.
He identified digitalization, simpler logistics and customs procedures, and stronger coordination among countries in the region as the next priorities. In that context, he cited Azerbaijan’s cooperation road maps with Kazakhstan, Turkey and Georgia.
Baku believes the combined development of the Trans-Caspian route and TRIPP could expand trade, investment and energy cooperation between Asia and Europe.
