A cargo train carrying Russian grain to Armenia has departed from the Bilajari railway station near Baku, continuing a series of transit shipments moving through Azerbaijan.

The train consists of 11 wagons transporting approximately 1,023 tons of grain (about 770 tons net weight), according to transport data.

After leaving Bilajari, the train will travel to the Boyuk Kasik railway station on Azerbaijan’s border with Georgia. From there, the cargo will continue through Georgian territory before entering Armenia.

Transit deliveries along this route have increased in recent months. According to official figures, more than 22,000 tons of Russian grain – around 320 wagons – have already been transported to Armenia via Azerbaijan.

In addition, about 610 tons of fertilizer (9 wagons) have also been shipped through the same corridor.

Earlier, on March 9, another cargo train consisting of seven wagons carrying 488 tons of Russian grain was sent along the same route.

The shipments are handled through the infrastructure of Azerbaijan Railways, which manages the transit segment before the cargo continues through Georgia toward Armenia.
